BALIK KAbayan Bazaar Launched, BDO and DMW Strengthen Partnership
Quezon City, Philippines – The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Banco de Oro (BDO), in conjunction with another bank partner, marked a significant milestone in their collaboration by introducing the BALIK KAbayan Bazaar and formally signing a Marketing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The event’s goal is to give returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) the tools they need to start their own businesses and boost the Philippine economy.
The DMW emphasized at the event how crucial it is to assist OFWs when they return to their home country. These people can exhibit their goods and services at the BALIK KAbayan Bazaar, which encourages self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship.
At alam po natin yun kahit noong nagkaroon ng consultation way back December 2022. ” said Venecio Legaspi, DMW Assistant Secretary for Reintegration.
Negosyo booths are supplied by BDO, which can be used for free by OFWs
BDO, a leading bank in the Philippines, has been a steadfast supporter of OFWs and their families. The MOA signed with the DMW strengthens this commitment by providing financial services and resources to OFW entrepreneurs.

The BALIK KAbayan Bazaar featured a wide range of products offered by OFW entrepreneurs, including handicrafts, food items, etc.
With its continued growth and expansion, the BALIK KAbayan Bazaar is anticipated to become an essential venue for OFWs to fulfill their aspirations of becoming entrepreneurs and advance the Philippine economy.
